Whoever’s managing the new SDRs they need to be checking in with new SDRs almost daily for almost 6 weeks, actively watching them for 3 months. It tails off at the end – the onboarding time is usually much longer than people expect. Not just basic training, when you’re watching people, how are they doing, I remember when I was managing my own team it might have been 6 weeks beyond hire and I’d be watching them just going through the motions, one on one.
Make sure the SDRs you’re hiring aren’t just doing sales training. Make sure they’re shadowing and talking to someone from every function in your company for the first month. Ideally with customers as well, sitting in on not only sales calls, but with sales people, and maybe support calls or product calls or going to meet.
